“Vortex” Ultra-Durable Coating Remover
About “Vortex” Ultra-Durable Coating Remover
This Superior 21st Century Technology is chemically engineered to remove Ultra-Durable floor Coatings like Paragon II, Three part Urethanes and Ultra Violet Cured coatings. Vortex is formulated for fast penetration and emulsification of these coatings, thus providing an effective low cost method of removal. Vortex accomplishes this task without damaging the substrate or VCT surface. Vortex is conveniently packaged in 2.5 gal containers. Apply solution over the coating, allow sufficient dwell time, this will allow solution to penetrate the coating. Once sufficient penetration has occurred proceed with a conventional floor machine and aggressive brush. Scrub until the coating is completely removed. When multiple coats or heavy buildup are present a second application may be necessary.
Preparation and Application:
Vortex is recommended for removal of Ultra-Durable Coatings that are not removable by conventional stripping methods.
Vortex is ready to use from the container. Do not dilute with water.
Apply Vortex onto the coating using a micro fiber applicator or a blended wet mop. Apply at a rate of 160 square feet per gallon (The 2.5 gal solution will cover approximately 400 square feet of coating). Apply liberal amounts of Vortex to prevent evaporation. It may be necessary to add more Vortex as it penetrates the coating. Allow the Vortex to soak for thirty minutes and penetrate the coating. Once penetration has occurred agitate and scrub the coating with a standard floor machine using an aggressive brush. Some areas (where the scrub brush does not reach) may require a flat edge scraper to remove the coating. Using a floor squeegee, move the material into a pile and pick-up with a commercial wet/dry vacuum. Continue this process until all of the coating and stripping solution has been removed. Flood rinse with clear water and agitate with a standard floor machine using an 80 grit screen. When screening is complete pick-up the solution with a commercial wet/dry vacuum, damp mop with clear water to neutralize the surface. Caution; more than one rinsing cycle may be needed. Check the pH of the floor before applying new coating.
NOTE: Avoid skin contact when using Vortex. Always wear protective clothing and goggles. Safety foot wear is always recommended when stripping commercial floor products!
